Today, Acting CEO Carlos Pol of the Ministry of Economic Development attended the launch of the Research Office's Human Rights Research Series at the University of Belize. This series aims to provide a platform for research addressing critical societal issues and fostering positive change.
The first publication presented, titled "A Legal and Empirical Analysis of LGBTQ+ Economic, Social, and Cultural Rights: A Case Study of Belize," was developed in collaboration with the United Belize Advocacy Movement (UNIBAM). This research seeks to highlight the economic, social, and cultural rights of LGBTQ+ individuals in Belize.
CEO Pol emphasized that while the publication will examine legalities and human rights, the key takeaway should be a deeper understanding of what true inclusion means.
The Ministry expressed its gratitude to the University of Belize Research Office, UNIBAM, and all researchers involved in this vital project.
